The 5th Meeting of the 8th Council of China Electric Power Construction Enterprise Association was held

On December 26th, the fifth meeting of the eighth council of China Electric Power Construction Association (referred to as "CECA") was held in Beijing. The meeting closely follows major strategic decisions and deployments such as "leading the development of new quality productive forces" and "accelerating the construction of a new energy system", better fulfilling the functions of the 8th Council of China Electric Power Construction Association, and leading the high-quality development of the power construction industry. Wang Siqiang, President of China Electric Power Construction Enterprise Association, presided over the meeting.

The conference invited renowned economist and former Deputy Secretary General of the National Development and Reform Commission, Fan Hengshan, to give a special report entitled "Understanding Several Major Issues during the 15th Five Year Plan Period - Learning Experience from the Suggestions of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China".

The meeting reviewed and approved seven proposals, including the "China Power Construction Association 2025 Work Report and 2026 Work Plan"; We have listened to seven reports, including the report on the change of representatives of some executive director units and director units of the 8th Council of China Electric Power Construction Association; I have studied the Opinions of the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Central Department of Social Work on Strengthening the Construction of Social Organization Councils.

In his concluding speech, Wang Siqiang comprehensively summarized the work achievements of the association in 2025 from the perspective of serving the national strategic overall situation, deeply analyzed the new situation and tasks of the development of the energy and power industry and the association, and made systematic deployments for key work in 2026. He emphasized that in the past year, the association has achieved significant results in ten aspects, including party building leadership, serving national strategies, improving quality and safety, technological innovation, standard construction, talent cultivation, and international exchanges, and its industry influence and service capabilities have reached a new level. In the face of the new situation, it is necessary to deeply understand the development trend of industry greenization, digitization, and integration, accurately meet the new requirements of the new era for industry associations, and based on the functional positioning of "an important component of the market system, a supporting force for industry governance, and a bridge connecting all parties", strive to create a benchmark for high-quality development in the industry.

He pointed out that 2026 is the starting year of the 15th Five Year Plan and a crucial year for promoting the transformation and leap of the energy and power industry. The work of the Association must adhere to the general tone of seeking progress in stability and keeping innovation, focus on the seven core areas, namely, the leadership of party building, the cultivation of power engineering brands, the transformation of standards and scientific and technological achievements, the industry's digital intelligence and sustainable development, the improvement of quality and safety, the cultivation and development of talents, and the systematic construction of think tanks, and make precise implementation and practical efforts to accelerate the construction of a new energy system and contribute to the construction of Chinese path to modernization.

At the same time, the second meeting of the Supervisory Board of China Electric Power Construction Association in 2025 was held, chaired by Chairman Zhang Ning. The meeting reviewed the work report of the supervisory board for the year 2025, and put forward specific requirements around standardizing the operation of the association and strengthening its supervisory functions, in order to build a strong supervisory defense line for the high-quality development of the association.
